The goals of EZ RENT-A-CAR have always been to provide exceptionally low rates, flexible renting criteria, and outstanding customer service.

Natalia Protassova, one of the founders of the company, has said, “I first had the idea for EZ RENT-A-CAR when I had a particularly bad experience as a rental customer. I needed to rent a car to take the road test for my driver’s license. I had the worst time trying to find someone who would rent to me. Most companies refused outright, and the owner of one business that actually agreed to rent to me was so incredibly rude to me that I walked out of his office without a car. I realized that there was a real need for a business with a good attitude, great customer service, and low prices, specifically catering to unconventional renters, or just to anyone who needs a car but doesn’t want to deal with the hassles of the major companies.”

Protassova continued, “I’ve noticed an overall decline in customer service in Southern California that began in the early 1990's. Sales coaches have permeated many retail and service industries, setting their primary aim as making sales, not serving customers well. The famous goal has become 'selling ice to the Eskimos', instead of giving people what they want.

"Since then, practically every retail industry has committed itself to selling their products and services, while paying very little attention to quality, or even to whether consumers really need the merchandise. Very expensive hotels provide marginal service. Car dealers have adopted a habit of high pressure sales, with no shame in deceiving their customers. Builders have over-produced massive houses with no backyards, poor floor plans, no consideration for future residents, and prices higher than most people can afford.

"It seems that every industry has lost its integrity. Instead of serving the public, they aspire to find the best way to provide as little as possible at the highest price, selling it all with a pretty slogan."

We at EZ RENT-A-CAR are committed to being different. Our goals significantly differ from other companies in the auto rental and sales industries. Simply put, we are here to serve the public, not just to make a quick sale.

Unlike our competitors, we set the lowest possible rental rates and sell below blue book value. By cutting our profits and raising the quality of customer service we aim not only to benefit our customers, but the retail and service industries as a whole. We allow for flexible renting criteria; almost anyone can rent a vehicle from us. We serve customers who do not have a major credit card or who are under 25 years old, without adding unnecessary fees. We believe that our clientele’s interests are our main priority. Therefore, each and every customer is treated like a VIP, no matter how large or small his or her transaction with us is.

Our customers have shown that they appreciate our way of doing business by helping us grow immensely over the years. We started with seven cars in 1998; just two years later, we had over ten times that number at two locations.

Last year, we decided to branch out to work on our newly-developed idea, the EZ OWN CLUB. Since the launch of EZ OWN in March of 2007, we have been extremely busy, helping hundreds of customers. We currently have approximately 90 cars on the road and customer demand that exceeds our supply, with plans to expand our fleet to 300 vehicles in 2009.

Our mission remains to deliver what is promised, to be honest, to provide good products at the lowest price possible, and to help anyone who needs it. We treat all our customers like fellow human beings, not simply a part of our bottom line. In all these ways, we like to think that we are more than just a business that makes a profit, but an organization that gives back to the community that supports us.
